You can view guides in-game within the steam overlay (shift + tab is default) for easy access, your favourites are shown first. This may vary depending on the time of the day and random. The very best spots are marked by a yellow star, often you'll find plenty of animals over there. Check the legend at the bottom of the map to find out what color represents each species.
These can be big (very common) or small (common). There are colored circles on the border of the yellow lines showing what animals are most common over there. These spots usually contain several need zones. Locations with high animal population are encircled by a yellow line on the map.
